For you have been born again. Your new life did not come from your
earthly parents because the life they gave you will end in death.
But this new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal,
living word of God.

LIGHT from the WORD. 
You had only one choice to be born.
You had no choice to be conceived.
After you were conceived, you had to SURRENDER to your
mother's will to deliver you.
It's very interesting then, that Jesus would use the term
"born again" to describe genuine salvation. (See John 3:3)
To have genuine salvation, you have only ONE choice.
That is to SURRENDER to the will of Jesus Christ!
We cannot save ourselves just as we could not
birth ourselves!
It is impossible for imperfect sinners to behave their way
into right standing with God!!
Our first birth came with sin....and leads to death.
But the second birth is "imperishable!"
That's because it comes not from earthly parents, but
from the "LIVING WORD of GOD"--Jesus!
This second birth is FOREVER, ETERNAL!
So, my question for you today is:
Have you been BORN AGAIN by SURRENDER to Jesus?
