DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"CARING INVOLVEMENT"

A retired Marine took a job as a school
teacher.
Just before his first school year, he had
an automobile wreck and hurt his back.

He had a plaster cast around the upper
part of his body.
It fit well under his shirt, and was not
noticeable.

The first day of school, he entered the
class room, opened a window by his
desk and sat down.

Some of the children became unruly.
Just then, a breeze through the window
caused his tie to flap upward.
He took the stapler from his desk and
stapled it to his chest!

No more were the children unruly!

_______SCRIPTURE____________

1Thess. 5:14
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them
that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded,
support the weak, be patient toward all men.
KJV

_______THOUGHT______________

In the Scripture above, there are four things
important for Christians to know.

WARN them.
One reason so many professors of Christ
go astray, is because other Christians are
fearful to perfom this DUTY.
How often do we see professors of Christ
not attending, or taking an active role in
church membership?
That's UNRULY!

COMFORT them.
Some church members may be disheartened.
How often do we ignore the problem, and not
speak comfort to them?

SUPPORT them.
As we receive the strength and truth of God's
Word, we should help others who are weak
in that area.
For instance, are you teaching a Bible class?

Be PATIENT toward them.
The word for patient is makrothumeo.
It means to be longsuffering.
WOW! That's a real thought!
Not only a thought, but a required action!
Not only toward fellow-Christians but to "ALL men!"

Those four things require CARING INVOLVEMENT!

Love ya!
