DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"CHOSEN and ORDAINED"

When we were kids there was a playground
on which we gathered to play baseball.

A very kind lady, who owned the pasture,
allowed us to play there.

We would "choose up sides."

I remember the choices; choose because
we new the abilities and willingness to do
a good job.

John 15:15
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen
you, and ordained you, that ye should go and
bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:
that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my
name, he may give it you.
KJV

_______THOUGHT_____________________

Normally, in those days, a Jewish man would
choose the rabbi to which he would attach
himself.

In THIS case, though, EACH of the disciples
were chosen by Christ!

He called them to be His "disciples" or servants.
A disciple is a STUDENT to whom truth is
deposited, and expected to be used!

Not only did Jesus CHOOSE, but He ORDAINED.
The word "ordained," means to place, or put.
They were chosen to be placed in the "Vine"
so that they might live and produce "FRUIT!"

Each Christian should realize that THIS is the
reason for which he/she was saved.
We did not seek Jesus first; He sought US!
Jesus used the church, ministers, teachers,
and others; and, He "called" through His WORD
which is always accompanied by His Holy Spirit.

We should also realize that Jesus has "ordained"
(placed, put) us to PRODUCE FRUIT.

Being called, convicted and converted, we can
"ask of the FATHER" in Jesus' Name!

Christians are called to play the position to which
they are placed!
Therefore, AS WE ARE GOING about life; let us
produce the "fruit" of sharing Jesus with others!

Love ya!
