Today's Devotion:
"CIRCUMSPECTLY and REDEEMING"
If a soldier is walking through a minefield,
he is careful WHERE he puts his feet, and
WHEN he puts his feet!
_______SCRIPTURE____________
Eph 5:15-16
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not
as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days
are evil.
KJV
_______THOUGHT______________
The word circumspectly is translated from the
Greek akribos, which means carefully or
diligently.
I had a friend who used this illustration to
explain: he said, "If a tomcat is walking across
a clothesline, and two bulldogs are below him,
he will walk CIRCUMSPECTLY."
Now, in verse 16, we find the word REDEEMING.
It is translated from the Greek exagoradzo, and
means to purchase or rescue from loss.
One cannot rescue time once it is used.
Therefore, the context is that we must USE it
at the appropriate time so that it will NOT
be lost.
Christians, we live in a world that is fraught with
pride and selfishness.
May we walk carefully and be sure WHERE
we walk, our character reflects Christ.
Also, may we testify of Christ WHEN the
opportunity is presented.
Love ya!
