Today's Devotion:
"CONSIDER our PROMISOR!"
HI!
Some members of congress promise
responsible spending.
They say we should cut spending by $800B,
and raise the debt ceiling by $2.5T.
I’m thinking they should receive an F on the
math portion of their report card!
_______SCRIPTURE____________
2 Peter 1:4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great
and precious promises:
that by these ye might be partakers of the
divine nature, having escaped the corruption
that is in the world through lust.
KJV
_______THOUGHT______________
When considering promises made, first
consider the One who promised!
Jesus Christ is the ONLY One Who ever
fulfilled His promises!
He promised to die and be raised again in
3 days!
HE DID that!
That means He had an A report card!
Through Jesus' death and resurrection, you
and I are promised eternal salvation!
This is the promise of our eternal Savior in
the Bible.
That's why Peter refers to them (above) as
exceeding great and precious!
Jesus Christ ALONE owns eternal salvation,
and is the ONLY ONE Who can GIVE it!!
Be careful to know, Jesus also said,
I am the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE:
NO man cometh to the Father but by Me!
(John 14:6)
When one surrenders to Jesus as Lord, they
receive MANY wonderful promises of God
written in His Word.
SOME of those promises begin with
*SALVATION,
*forgiveness of sin,
*acceptance into the family of God,
*daily strength & comfort from His Holy Spirit,
*a resurrection to eternal life WITHOUT and sin!
CONSIDER our PROMISOR!
Then, realize the Bible is FULL of exceeding
great and precious promises!
Jeremiah 33:3 says, CALL unto me, and I
will ANSWER thee, and shew thee great and
mighty things, which thou knowest not.
LEARN and MEDITATE on the promises of God!
They will give you comfort and solace every day!
Love ya!
