THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Some folk, when they retire, intend to do nothing.
The worst thing about doing nothing is you can never take a day off!

1 Thess 5:6
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Jesus said, “My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” (John 5:17)
The indication I receive from that is: they never stop!
The Greek word from which “sober” is translated (nepho) means sober, and also alert.
Christians may be working, attending social functions, attending school, or at home.
But the being of a Christian should never stop!
We should be ever alert to God’s closeness.
“Pray without ceasing.” (1Thess. 5:17)
We should be ever alert and mindful to the principles and guidance of God’s Word.
“Study to show thyself approved unto God....” (2Tim. 2:15)
The greatest guilt I find in myself is: not doing enough for Jesus.
The more I pay attention to Him, the more alert I am to the uninvited guest of sin.
Don’t be found doing nothing for Jesus.
Be vigilant, diligent – ever watching for His return.
Love ya!
