DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"DOUGH on the AXE HANDLE"

Back in the early 1900's, a lady was kneeding a
huge batch of dough in her kitchen.
She noticed the fire in her stove was going down.
So she hastily removed her hands from the dough
and ran out to chop an armload of wood for the stove.

As she returned to the kitchen, she noticed her
recently engaged teenage daughter sitting in the
kitchen dreamy-eyed.
"Momma," asked, "how long does the honeymoon last?"
>{? Mom looked at her knowingly and said, "Till there
is dough on the axehandle honey!"

Rom 10:14-15
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they
have not believed? and how shall they believe in
him of whom they have not heard? and how shall
they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent?
as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them
that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad
tidings of good things!

_______THOUGHT______________

When we truly surrender to Christ, there is a brief
period of a honeymoon experience.
We find great relief in being blood-bought redeemed
and realizing we have a genuine relationship
with our Redeemer.
We have a period of studious and prayerful growth.

Then we realize that as part of Christ's church we
have responsibilities.
One might say, we come to the part when there is
dough on the axe handle!

Each Christian has five main responsibilities to
our Lord Jesus:
Worship, Discipleship, Ministry, Fellowship and
Evangelisim.

People need to HEAR the Gospel of Christ.
They will not hear, unless Christians TELL.

Christians are called and sent for that purpose!

Is there dough on YOUR axe handle?

Love ya!
