Today's Devotion:
"DWELL with the KING"
Some of the most intriguing
thoughts might come from the
boring lineage of people.
____SCRIPTURE____
1Chron. 4:23
23 These were the potters,
and those that dwelt among
plants and hedges: there they
dwelt with the king for his work.
KJV
____THOUGHT______
These "potters" led a life
of menial labor.
But, note this: "they dwelt
with the KING!"
I remember, one of my best
friends was, by trade, a
logger.
He studied the Bible
diligently.
Once, he delivered a sermon
about heritage - what a
person leaves behind for
their family and friends.
And, I remember his sons,
who were also great friends.
They also carried on the
"work" of the KING JESUS!
Archaeological digs has
shown that there were
"guilds" of potters which
had very special "work"
for the king.
They even had specific
jar-stamps for their
pottery, handed down
from generation to
generation.
WHY?
Because they "dwelt with
the king for his WORK!"
It doesn't matter what your
status is on the totum pole
of worldly sucess.
It doesn't matter how menial
your position in societal
standards.
DWELL with KING JESUS,
and DO HIS WORK!
Pass on the faith and the
character of your Lord!
Love ya!
