DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"FATHERS"

HI!

A little boy had just got a spanking from his dad.
Sniffling, he looked up at Dad, and asked,
"Dad, do you think I'm a CANOE?"

Dad asked, "Why would you think that son?"

The little boy answered, "Well you always say
a man oughta paddle his own canoe!"

Ex 20:12
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may
be long upon the land which the LORD thy God
giveth thee.

Eph 6:4
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath:
but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of
the Lord.

_______THOUGHT______________

Sunday, is Father's Day.
All over the nation and the Christian world, we
HONOR fathers.
WHY?

Acccording to Biblical history, the father should
be the head of the family.
He is RESPONSIBLE:
for the welfare of the family,
for the honor and integrity taught in the family.

And it is to the father that shame is reflected
when his children do wrong.

But more importantly, it is the father who will
stand before God and answer for his family!

In Ephesians 6:2, the Bible says that
Exodus 20:12 is "the first commandment with
PROMISE!"

Disobedience to parents can bring DEATH!
Fathers WARN children about things which
can harm them.

It is also the father's responsibility to LOVINGLY
discipline his children. (Along with mothers)

But it is more important that fathers take the
responsibility to love and TEACH the children.

ANY man can sire a child.
But it takes a REAL man to REAR a child.

The Bible tells us to "bring them up in
the nurture and admonition of the LORD!"
(Eph. 6:4)

Fathers, LOVE your children!
Provide, protect and teach your children
according to the will of God!

Children, HONOR your father with love and
appreciation.

Love ya!
