Today's Devotion:
"HONORABLE PEOPLE"
The leadership of a nation
should favor those who live
righteously because they
will not ordinarily bring
shame on the nation.
____SCRIPTURE____
Prov 14:31
31 He that oppresseth the
poor reproacheth his Maker:
but he that honoureth him
hath mercy on the poor.
KJV
____THOUGHT______
Today is GOOD SAMARITAN
DAY in our nation.
The story of the Good
Samaritan is in Luke 10.
When a man was seen in
the ditch, obviously beaten
and robbed, a priest walked
by on the OTHER side.
Later, a Levite did the same.
But along came a Samaritan
(despised by the Jews), and
he stopped to HELP the man
in the ditch.
The priest and the Levite
actually "reproach(ed)" God
by OPPRESSING the poor
man!
But the Samaritan HONORED
God by helping the poor man!
Jesus asked, "Which of these"
was a NEIGHBOR to the poor
man in the ditch. (Luke 10:39)
Honorable in the nation are
the people who genuinely
CARE about the welfare
of the PEOPLE!
And, especially honorable
are those who care about
the ETERNAL welfare of
the people!
Honorable people are those
who do NOT "reproach" God;
but are those who "honoureth"
God!
Love ya!
