The following was published in the December 27, 1942,
New York (NY) Times.

A private was writing a letter home to his mother.
He said, “The food in this camp is absolute poison,”
Then, continuing his complaint he said, “and such small portions!”

LIGHT from the WORD.

The word "portion", above, is derived from the Hebrew
cheleq (khay'lek).
It can mean flattery, and also inheritance.

God has chosen His people!
He has placed His ALL in them!

Christ fought the battle of sin for us and WON!
He has invested ALL of Himself in His people!
We are His "portion!"

Now, the statement in Lam. 3:24 above, is that God’s people choose
HIM to be their “portion” – or inheritance!
Have we?
Have we given Him our ALL?

God's purpose is to extend saving grace to ALL people.

God's purpose is also to CARE FOR those who
surrender to Him as Lord.

Where is Jesus in your life’s circle?
Is He at the CENTER – the MAIN “portion”?
Or, is He only a small portion?

Today, PRAISE HIM for investing His ALL in you!
And, invest your ALL in Him!
