DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"Naure REVEALS"

Carl Goberg was a Swedish pastor,
poet and member of parliament.

One day, while visiting near the southeast
coast of Sweden, he was caught in a
quick storm.

Lightning flashed, thunder sounded --
then, just a quickly it all stopped and the
sun shown brilliantly.

That experience with nature inspired him
to write "How Great Thou Art."

__________SCRIPTURE__________

Ps 19:1-6
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
The heavens declare the glory of God; and
the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night
unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their
voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and
their words to the end of the world. In them hath
he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his
chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a
race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and
his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing
hid from the heat thereof.

__________THOUGHT__________

That first stanza and the first line of Carl
Boberg's song is:
"O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder
consider all the works thy hands hath made,
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,
thy pow'r throughout the universe displayed;

Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Savior-God, to thee:
How great thou art! How great thou art!"

In Ps. 19:1, David praises God for the revelation
of Himself in His creative work.

God is the Master Creator!
All this universe is a testament to His handiwork!
What glorious beauty is displayed!

Each dawn brings the "speech" of God's
purposeful creation as the earth revolves and the sun
appears to "come up" and dispel the darkness.

And each night expresses His wisdom as the stars
of this massive universe display their beauty.

A person doesn't even need a "language" (verse 3)
to see God's glory!

When the sun appears in the morning it is as if a
bridegroom were coming out of his house and
heading to the wedding.
His face is bright with excitement and anticipation.

Praise God for His glory and power which are
revealed in His creation!

Love ya!
