Today's Devotion:
"PASSION WEEK MONDAY"
On Sunday of Passion Week, Jesus
entered the temple and "looked round
about upon all things." (Mark 11:11)
This was a moment of Divine
INSPECTION.
That evening, Jesus returned to Bethany.
On Monday, Jesus entered the temple
again.
That was a moment of Divine CLEANSING!
_______SCRIPTURE____________
Mark 11:15-18
15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus
went into the temple, and began to cast out
them that sold and bought in the temple, and
overthrew the tables of the moneychangers,
and the seats of them that sold doves;
16 And would not suffer that any man should
carry any vessel through the temple.
17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not
written, My house shall be called of all nations
the house of prayer? but ye have made it a
den of thieves.
18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it,
and sought how they might destroy him: for
they feared him, because all the people was
astonished at his doctrine.

_______THOUGHT______________
The week before Jesus' crucifixion is called
PASSION WEEK.
Jesus was fulfilling prophecy and completing
His mission of offering eternal salvation
through His perfect sacrifice which atoned
for men's sins.
Monday, Jesus entered Jerusalem and
CLEANSED the temple!
The temple courts were to be used by the
multitudes to pray and praise the Lord.
Instead, they were dominated by those who
bought and sold the animals for sacrifice.
They were also dominated by those who
were money changers, and made a profit
from God's business.
In His earlier cleansing of the temple Jesus
stated they had made God's house a house
of merchandise! (John 2:16)
Now He says they have "made it a den of
thieves!"
Jesus challenged those in authority and
condemned commercialization of religion!
A GENUINE relationship with Jesus becomes
MORE important than money!
In your relationship with Jesus, which is
MORE IMPORTANT?
Love ya!
