Today's Devotion:
"PASSION WEEK THURSDAY"
When Abraham led Isaac to the mountain,
Isaac remarked, "..where is the lamb for a
burnt offering?"
Abraham answered, "My son, God will
provide HIMSELF a lamb....!"
Upon laying Isaac on the altar of sacrifice,
Abraham heard the brush move behind
him.
He turned and saw a RAM..not a lamb!
_______SCRIPTURE____________
Luke 22:19-20
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and
brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is
my body which is given for you: this do in
remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying,
This cup is the new testament in my blood,
which is shed for you.
KJV
_______THOUGHT______________
Thursday was PREPARATION DAY, because
Friday THE "Lamb of God,"
Jesus, would be crucified!
The Passover represented preparation for
leaving Egypt.
It was a REMINDER that God had delivered
the nation of Israel from Egyptian slavery.
The Matzah, the bread cakes in the Seder
represented: affliction, freedom, and
anticipation.
The Matzah bread is prepared without yeast.
Yeast, in the Bible is often a reference for sin.
Jesus is the PURE Lamb of God, having NO
sin.
The "cup" represented the price of
redemption.
It was a PROPHETIC SYMBOL of the
time when God in Jesus would pay the awful
price of HIS blood for the sins of all men.
Jesus is "the Lamb slain from the foundation
of the world." (Rev. 13:8)
He is the "lamb" to which Abraham
prophetically referred!
Let the Last Supper, be a REMINDER that
Jesus paid God's blood to God for OUR
salvation from the slavery block of SIN!
Let it also be a PROPHETIC outlook to when
Jesus will deliver those surrendered to Him
into a place of glorious beauty forever;
because IN that place will be NO SIN!
Love ya!
