Today's Devotion:
"PREFERENCE or CONVICTION"
HI!
A homeless hitchhiker, traveling from town to
town, found some cardboard and made a sign:
"WHEREVER YOU'RE GOING, I'LL GO"
_______SCRIPTURE____________
Gen 39:10-12
10 And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day,
that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
11 And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into
the house to do his business; and there was none of the men
of the house there within.
12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me:
and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.

_______THOUGHT______________
A preference is something you would consider changing.
A conviction is something you wouldn't EVEN consider
changing.
Notice the depth of character Joseph displayed in the
Scripture above.
He was rich, powerful, trusted, and successful.
No one was there to prevent him from doing what the
boss's wife wanted.
But Joseph had a conviction about that!
He would rather RUN AWAY than to lose that
conviction!
Joseph would rather lose a coat than lose his good
conscience!
Friends, it doesn't really matter what others think.
When we have a conviction to do right in the sight
of God, we're going to do just that.
Do not be deceived, bad company will CORRUPT
good morals! (1Cor. 15:33)
One reason for Bible study and prayer is to develop
character by LEARNING God's time-defying principles!
If we are convicted those principles are right,
we WILL APPLY them when we make choices!
Don't let your choices be made by PREFERENCES!
Get a good CONVICTION to live by God's moral
truths!
Love ya!
