"Sand, Gold, FAITH"
HI!
The oyster gets a piece of irritating sand inside.
The sand aggravates and agitates.
But the oyster has a fluid inside, which it secretes
upon the sand.
And the oyster makes a beautiful pearl from the
irritating sand!

1 Peter 1:6-9
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a
season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through
manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more
precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be
tried with fire, might be found unto praise
and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus
Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though
now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with
joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation
of your souls.

Life often brings difficulties to our soul.
Those trials, like grains of sand in the oyster,
are called "trial(s) of your faith."
Christians, faith is sorta like the old '55 Chevy
I bought.
It had dents, a hole in the floor board that let
in the smelly exhaust from the muffler.
But, it had a bullet hole in the windshield
right in front of the driver's seat.
It wasn't pretty, but it worked!
Gold, to be at its purest, must be "tried with fire."
It must be heated until the impurities float to the
top, and can be skimmed off.
Faith is the "gift of God" (Eph. 2:8).
It is PURE, and it WORKS!
Faith is on the inside of our souls by the indwelling
of God's Holy Spirit.
It secretes in us solidity and strength to endure
difficulties!
Like the pearl and the purest gold, we show our
strength of faith when we ENDURE!
Paul speaks of this in Romans 5:1-5.
James speaks of the same in James 1:2-3.
With the endurance of each trial in our lives,
intensity of our love for Christ grows.
When you face the gritty, grinding sands of life,
let the power of God IN you grow the beautiful
PEARL of FAITH!
