Today's Devotion:
"TOPSY TURVY"
The naturalist William Beebe used
to visit President Theodore
Roosevelt at Sagamore Hill.
Both would take an evening stroll
after dinner.
Then one or the other would go
through a customary ritual.
He would look up at the stars
saying, "That is the Spiral Galaxy
of Andromeda. It is as large as our
Milky Way. It is one of a hundred
million galaxies. It is 750,000
light-years away. It consists of
one hundred billion suns, each
larger than our sun."
Then silence followed.
Finally, one of them would say,
"Now I think we are SMALL
enough.
Let's go to bed."
____SCRIPTURE____
Eccl 10:7
I have seen servants upon
horses, and princes walking
as servants upon the earth.
KJV
John 1:4
In him was life; and the life
was the light of men.
KJV
____THOUGHT______
Looking AROUND, we
sometimes become dismayed
because sin makes the world
look "topsy turvy."
But historically, this has always
been true!
For instance:
Noah was considered mentally
deranged while building the ark.
After David was anointed to become
king, he was an exile and hunted for
his life.
When Ahab was king, the lowly
prophet Elijah controlled the drought.
Later, Elijah conquered 850 prophets
of Baal, but Jezebel sent him whining
into the wilderness.
When Jesus, our Creator, came to this
earth physically, He was still "King of
kings, and Lord of lords."
Yet, in His brief lifetime, Jesus occupied
the position of "servant of servants!"
When your world becomes chaotic,
LOOK UP!
Christ came to give "life," and His
life will give you "LIGHT!"
Love ya!
