DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"TRASH the CLUTTER"

Clutter is usually the result of letting things
be gathered and stay,
Even though one knows that they should
be thrown away!

One cannot control the wind,
But one can adjust the sails!

_______SCRIPTURE____________

1Pet. 2:1-3
1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all
guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all
evil speakings,
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk
of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is
gracious.
KJV

_______THOUGHT______________

Unfortunately, most of us allow clutter to fill
our lives: physically, mentally, emotionally
and even spiritually.

As, Chuck Swindoll says, “We all need a
check up from the neck up to get rid of
stinkin’ thinkin’!”

Let me take the verses above and REVERSE
them.

Vs 3
Do you remember when you first surrendered
to the Lord?
Your desires CHANGED!
You actually WANTED to study the Bible,
pray, be in church, and LEARN from Christ
how you could be useful to Him.

Vs 2
Is your desire NOW as strong as it was THEN?
Are you seriously searching God's Word and
praying to GROW in likeness to Him?

Vs 3
In order to have that genuine and sincere
SEEKING of the Lord, we need to
TRASH the CLUTTER!

Peter says, "LAYING ASIDE..."
Malice can be malignant like a cancer;
Guile is described as deceit;
Hypocrocy is pretense, but not sincerity;
Envy relates to coventousness;
Evil speaking is defaming with gossip.

The winds of life blow strongly on our little
personal ship.

We must learn to STOP every so often, and
TRASH the CLUTTER!

Love ya!
