Today's Devotion:
"There are teachers, and those who TEACH!"
HI!
I remember Dad takin' me fishin' when I was little.
We got home, and he said, "Now. Let's CLEAN 'em."
I watched as he showed me how to scale the bream,
then cut off their heads and clean out the gut.
I said, "That's NASTY!"
Dad said, "Son, you have a LOT MORE to learn
about fishin'!"
_______SCRIPTURE____________
Deut 6:4-9 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is
one LORD:
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine
heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day,
shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children,
and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house,
and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest
down, and when thou risest up.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house,
and on thy gates.

_______THOUGHT______________
There is so much in this Scripture that I could never
place it all in one short devotion.
So, let me just express some basics.
1) God IS - self-existant, eternal, Holy, perfect;
2) God is ONE - first, altogther and united;
3) Our love for Him should be FIRST, above all else;
4) Like God, His Word is perfect.
Therefore, God is to be loved, honored, respected
and FIRST in our hearts and lives.
AND, we are directed not only to LOVE Him, but
also to TEACH Him and His Word to our children!
Now, there are teachers, and there are those who
TEACH.
Dad, Mom - it is YOUR responsibility to TEACH
your children about God through using His Word.
Teaching children with the Word of God is
IMPORTANT for society and nations!!
When liberty is given without moral character the result
is pandemonium, and people begin to feed on lusts rather
than the common good.
The next generation is in need of a truth that can never be
broken!
Teach them God's WORD!
The way to teach God's Word is to make it the focus of
conversation between parents and children ALL the time
(verse 7).
Another way to teach God's Word is to make reminders.
Phylacteries were leather binding which went around the
forearms.
ON these were written Words of God.
Also, God's Word was engraved on doors, door posts,
gates, etc.
Parents, BE one who TEACHES!
Love ya!
