"The GO-BETWEEN"
A man who had been a backslider began
attending church faithfully again.
The pastor was elated and spoke to him,
"It's wonderful to see you in church again
with your good wife."
The man said, "Well, pastor, it's a matter
of choice. I choose to hear YOUR sermon
rather than HERS!"

1Pet. 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew
forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light;

"Chosen" comes from the Greek elektos.
This is the same apostle Peter who said,
"Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is
none other name under heaven given among men,
whereby we MUST be saved." (Acts 4:12)
By GRACE, God calls to foreigners everywhere and
convicts of sin, then calls to commitment. (Eph. 2:8-9)
We must remember here that "chosen" also refers
to ANYONE who "believeth" in Jesus as Lord and
Savior.
That word "believeth" means to commit trust.
Now, Christians, are also a "royal priesthood."
A go-between.
The Christian can carry Christ to others, and lift
prayers to God.
And Christians are to be a "holy nation."
Christians are to live DIFFERENT from the world,
in that they follow the teachings of the Bible instead
of worldly philosophy.
All the above is HOW Christians are chosen.
It BEGAN with holy conviction by God's Spirit
that the WORD of God (Jesus) is the ONLY
true representative of God's amazing love toward
EVERYONE and ANYONE.
But WHY are Christians called "chosen?"
"...that ye should SHEW FORTH the PRAISES" of
God in Christ!!
In humility before God, Christians have been called
out of the "darkness" (sin) into the "marvelous light,"
or understanding of salvation.
Are YOU a GO-BETWEEN?
Are you a go-between, not just on Sundays, but
EVERY day?
