DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"The WAY Of ESCAPE"

No man knows how bad he is till he has
tried very hard to be good...Only those who
try to resist temptation know how strong it is.
(C. S. Lewis)

_______SCRIPTURE____________

James 1:13-15
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am
tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted
with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn
away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth
forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth
forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
KJV

_______THOUGHT______________

The Hebrew word for sin is CHATA.
It means failure to meet a goal.
The Greek term is HAMARTIA.
It means falling short of the mark.

An acronym for sin may be:
Sacred
Instructions
Neglected.

In Genesis 4:7, God tells Cain,
"If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?
and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door.
And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt
rule over him."

All human beings are made in the image of God.
And all shall be held accountable to God for
their actions.

To dismiss or neglect God's sacred directions
is an act AGAINST God.

Sin appeals to the human nature by bringing
TEMPTATION to turn away from God's divine
instruction.

In the New Testament, we are told:
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as
is common to man: but God is faithful, who will
not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are
able; but will with the temptation also make a
way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

(1Cor. 10:13)

If we seek God's will, we shall be "accepted."
And, HE will make a WAY to escape the
temptation of sin.

Love ya!
