The late Dean John W. Burgon hated the theory of evolution, and contended against it on all occasions.
It was he who cried in a sermon:
"O ye men of science, give me back my ancestors in the Garden of Eden, and you may keep yours in the Zoological Gardens."
Gratitude is a powerful attitude that beautifully colors all of life.
The attitude of gratitude is a condition of heart.
When we consider the hundreds of millions of stars in the universe, what is man but a speck of dust on a small green planet?
Who am I that God Incarnate should come and die for me?
He is The Ancient of days, the Ruler of rulers, The Leader of leaders, the Overseer of the over comers,
and the sovereign Lord of all that was and is and is to come.
And, yet, His goal is a relationship with ME!
His love was so deep it brought forgiveness when I didn't even know I needed it!
His love is so vast it gives me a part in His eternal kingdom even though I don't deserve it!
I can never thank Him enough!
Though words and time be endless, I could never express the fullness of gratitude.
It is then my great desire to develop an attitude of gratitude!
