LIGHT from the WORD.
The punishment of sin, laid upon Jesus Christ was placed upon
GOD INCARNATE!
That punishment actually should have been placed upon
MANKIND!
Jesus was "wounded for OUR transgressions!"
He was "bruised for OUR iniquities!"
The "peace" we can receive from God was
"upon HIM!"
It is ONLY through Jesus Christ that our sin-sick souls
can be "healed!"
THAT is forgiveness at its PINNACLE!
Consider the following example.
A person does something wrong to you,
then comes and asks forgiveness.
That person must accept HUMILITY in order to plead with you.
He must pay a price to receive forgiveness.
But YOU are the one who must pay the price of the
FORGIVENESS!
It is YOU who must agree to set the incident aside and
never bring it up again!
That is the price LOVE pays!
It is setting self aside in order to exhibit genuine care
for someone else!
God Himself came in flesh in order to PAY THAT PRICE
for you and me!!
What He received at OUR hands actually should have been
received by US at His hands!
He WILLINGLY paid the price of forgiveness FOR us!
Jesus ALREADY paid the price of forgiveness for you!
Have you paid the price of HUMILITY by begging for
His forgiveness?
