This program of daily devotions is designed to take you through the Bible in three years. It is our desire to help you gain a better general understanding of God's Word.
Please understand that in a study this brief, we will be concerned with only the major emphases and context of the Scriptures.
Each day a devotion for one or two chapters is posted, beginning with chapter one of Genesis and going through chapter twenty-two of Revelation. You are free to print each page as it appears. If you miss a day, you may contact us and request that devotion. Please send your request, along with $.50 (p&h) for each page to:

LEVITICUS
1 And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it of the herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the LORD.
2 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
3 And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
4 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
5 And Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice, which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
6 And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering unto the LORD be of the flock; male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.
7 If he offer a lamb for his offering, then shall he offer it before the LORD.
8 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof round about upon the altar.
9 And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat thereof, and the whole rump, it shall he take off hard by the backbone; and the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
10 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
11 And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto the LORD.
12 And if his offering be a goat, then he shall offer it before the LORD.
13 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of it, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.
14 And he shall offer thereof his offering, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
15 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
16 And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the LORD's.
17 It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.
The "Peace Offering" is a sacrifice that sought and characterized peace that was received between

CHAPTER 3
the offeror and Almighty God. This was the only offering of which the person participated by eating part
of the offering. Therefore it symbolized fellowship between God and man.
The offering could be made with 3 different kinds of animals: cattle (verses 1-5), sheep (verses 5-11), or
goats (verses 12-17).
What's the difference between a relationship and fellowship? A relationship is a casual knowledge of
someone, while fellowship is intimate knowledge of someone.
Notice that the fatty portions were offered to God on the altar of fire. That's because they were considered the
choicest part (verse 3). ALL the areas of fat are described (verse 4) and are to be offered to God.
Also, if the sacrifice was from the flock of sheep, then the "rump" (or fatty tail portion) was to be offered to God (verse 9).
Some sheep have tails that weigh up to fifteen pounds.
It was the choice part that was given to God. When we have fellowship with God we must give Him the
choice part of ourselves - our HEART.
Again we see the identification principle in this sacrifice (verses 2,8,13). This symbolized recognition of sin
and need of substitutionary atonement.
Later on, we'll see three different kinds of peace offerings. Leviticus 7:12-15 and Lev. 22:29-30 describe
thanksgiving offerings.
Leviticus 7:16-18 and Leviticus 22:18-25 describe pledge or promise offerings.
And Leviticus 7:16-18 and Leviticus 22:18-25 also describe voluntary or freewill offerings.
Isa 26:3 says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."
Peace is found in FAITHFULNESS to God.
Ps. 84:14 says, "Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it."
Peace is found in PURSUING God.
Have you found PEACE?
